FIDOMOTUS was born out of sheer hard work and a team of people who ideated and contributed their best of efforts and creativity into making this brand: ‘Customer Friendly’. To dissect the name into two, ‘FIDO’ stands for ‘To move’ and MOTUS stands for ‘To trust’. These two words define the driving force behind the organization as to which, the brand moves and works at a great pace in providing the people the best of their services resulting in getting the customers to trust them.

It is an end-to-end used car-trading platform started with the objective of changing and simplifying the used car buying experience. Since establishment, Fidomotus has traded in over 400 cars with an average sale of 15 cars a month.

It provides a free 1-year warranty on each car sold and 24×7 pan India roadside assistance.

A 24×7-helpline number is available for customers to call on and request for any car-related assistance. It is presently operating with 3 outlets, 2 in Vasant Kunj and 1 in Gurgaon. It shall expand to cities outside of Delhi NCR soon.

To scrutinize the existing used car market in India, the approximate value is of $25 billion. With keyword searches of over 3000 daily in Delhi NCR alone, the market still has a lot of space for startup’s to enter. The traditional “used car dealer” deals almost all in cash and does not provide any help/service guarantee after the car has been sold. Customers are forced to deal with a menial buying experience with no guarantee of ‘after sales service’. The traditionally used car market remains much unorganized and there is a general lack of trust between both the customers and the dealers.

The company is the brainchild of Sumit Roy, a Computer Science engineer by qualification who has always been very enthusiastic about cars and that steered him towards starting Fidomotus. The company tag line, “drive with trust”, portrays the sentiment behind the whole operation.

The website went live in April 2018 but the groundwork had started almost a year before in September 2017. This venture is not new and has a legacy of over 20 years. With over two decades trust & quality customer service has been at the core of the offline venture (Roys Royal) which was founded by Shri N.K. Roy (ex-Indian Air Force). In the Defense fraternity, he was also popularly referred as the Doctor of Automobiles. What started out as a passion slowly led to providing Sales & Services of Pre-owned Cars pan-India.

Over time, the brand evolved, keeping up with the continuous change in customer preferences and the dynamics of the automobile sector. What didn’t change however was the belief in simplifying the process of selection of used cars for the esteemed customers, be it buying or selling a car.
