Five siblings sustained injuries when the roof of their house in Dwarka sector 16 collapsed. A first information report has been registered under section 288 and 337 of the IPC.
Savitri (19), Sadhya (18), Ravina (13), Satish (15) and Vikram (11), were sleeping on the first floor and their parents were sleeping on the ground floor when the incident occurred.
Mr. Raghav Ram, their father and owner of the house allegled that “The first floor had a cement sheet as the roof. Our neighbour has been constructing his house and I had told him to take proper measures during the construction which he did not”
“The debris of cement sheets and bricks fell on my kids, who were sleeping on the first floor, and they got trapped. I ran upstairs and called other neighbours who helped me rescue my children” he added.
As windstorms hit different parts of the city this week, the wall of the under construction house of Mr. Raghav’s neighbor collapsed and the bricks fell on the cement sheet of his first floor, causing it collapse and injure his children.
The children were rushed to a nearby hospital and later taken to Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital and were discharged after the requisite treatments.
A case under Sections 288 (negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life) of the Indian Penal Code and the police is making further investigations about the case.
