The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), plans to construct a district center of international standards in Dwarka sector 11 & 12.
Aiming to generate revenue and provide facilities like restaurants, service
apartments, office complexes, shopping stores, medical stores and other similar stores at one place, the DDA is planning to construct commercial complexes on the vacant lands which are under possession of the authority.
A district center on par with international standards, art and aesthetics, will be constructed in Dwarka sector 11 & 12. In order to keep up with the proposals of the ‘Master Plan 2021’, the authority is working on other vacant lands in Dwarka to build district and community centers.
“These projects are part of Master Plan 2021. The main aim behind these projects is to generate revenue along with serving the community where people can avail the facilities near their house. Currently, the people living in Sector-11 and 12 go far to shop or visit a mall to watch movies and spend time with the family. But once the project is completed, they can have everything at one place near their home,” said a senior DDA official.
The official added that – “the project is in its initial stage and the finalization of the work will take one year. Further, once everything is final and gets approval, the project will be completed in two years”.
Along with these projects, the DDA is planning to revamp existing district centers in Nehru Place, Bhikaji Cama Place, Janakpuri, Netaji Subhash Place, Jhandewalan, Laxmi Nagar and Shivaji Place.
The district centers will be a hub of multiple stores and activities which provide the community all the facilities and fulfill their requirements at one place. They will also act as centers of sociocultural activity where people can interact with each other.
