Liquor Seized at RSVP by Delhi Excise Department, Two People Busted

New Delhi: The Excise Department of Delhi; which primarily focuses on Entertainment and Luxury tax, busted four people at separate raids that they conducted at two bars and nightclubs for serving illicit liquor without license. In an official statement, the Excise Department GNCT Delhi said, “Raids were conducted in two high profile areas of Delhi, one in RSVP Night Club situated at the five-star Radisson Blue Hotel in Dwarka and other at NIV Art Culture in Neb Sarai on last Sunday, late night.”

The statement also mentioned that during the raid at RSVP Night Club, the owner and the manager of the restaurant namely Manish Awasthi and Amit Chauhan respectively were apprehended. Both the accused persons have been handed over to local police along with the seized liquor. A case has been registered into the matter at Police Station Dwarka North.

A total of 639 bottles and pints of imported, Indian made foreign liquor and beer pints were recovered from the restaurant/club. Beer pints with expiry dates were also recovered from the store of the RSVP, indicating that the organizers were even not bothered about of health issues of the customers, the statement said.

The cases of selling illicit license-less liquor to under-age people are being rampant in Delhi and its other areas. Dwarka being one of the places creates a different view for the hotels, in which these bars are located in, especially high-end popular hotels. Excise Department keeps a tight scrutiny on those who are careless in their approach towards luxury and entertainment and do, over and careless spending on the same. It is important to know that there should be a valid age proof present with everyone while consuming alcohol anywhere for better safety.
