LG Anil Baijal directed the Delhi Development Authority to exhaustively plan and converge ongoing Dwarka projects to speed up the work.
With the goal of a ‘unified vision’ with regard to Dwarka residential suburb, the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to exhaustively plan and converge all ongoing and upcoming projects and programmes.
The constitution of an interdisciplinary group in Delhi Development Authority, including experts, has also been asked for by the Lieutenant Governer. The broad objective of the group will be to develop a complete ecosystem for the sub city by formulating a strategic plan by syncing up all the current and future projects and judiciously using all the available land.
Emphasis was laid upon the promotion of safety and comfortable walkability in and around Dwarka in his directive speech, urging the DDA to develop proper redevelopment plans.
The LG also stated that so far the DDA has been successful in developing over 90% of the land identified and marked specifically for residential usage, even as roughly 50% of the land earmarked specifically for commercial and public and semipublic (PSP) purposes has not been worked upon.
The conclusion that can be drawn from the statement was that though people may move to the residential suburb, the development of amenities will take time.
