Dwarka Expressway or NH248BB is an under construction public-private-partnership highway in north India that connects Dwarka with National Highway 8 at Kherki Dhaula and will pass Pataudi Road.
The Dwarka Expressway has been planned as an alternate link road between Delhi and Gurgaon and is expected to ease the traffic situation on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. The road was to have provided connectivity to the much-touted Reliance-HSIIDC SEZ besides the Garhi Harsaru dry depot, but the Reliance SEZ has now been canceled in the latest Masterplan 2031 of Dwarka Expressway Projects and the land allocated for residential, commercial and institutional projects.
Work on the 27-km-long expressway is running almost seven years behind schedule. In March 2017, however, the Punjab and Haryana High Court disposed of a bunch of writ petitions challenging acquisition of land for the project and seeking quashing of the award after the Haryana government offered a special package to them.
More than 150 housing projects have been launched along the Dwarka Expressway. However, impediments in the construction of the expressway have left the developers in a lurch. Of the 97,000 residential units, only around 7,500 units have been delivered.
