Dwarka residents are set to celebrate Chhath puja. This puja is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and many parts of the country.

The Chhath Puja is dedicated to the Sun and his Sister Usha/Shashti Devi/ Chhathi Maiya/Katyayani form of Durga/Devasena to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.

Special ghats are being prepared at various places in Delhi NCR. Chhath Puja is scheduled to be held on 2nd of November 2019 and 3rd November (evening of November 2 and early morning of November 3)

At Sector 11 they have decided to use every single drop of water. Hence, they have arranged tankers to send the water from the ghaat, after puja, to green areas and parks to water plants and trees. This way they are trying to spread the message to save water through the puja.
