Chhath puja is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and many parts of the country. It is dedicated to the Sun God and his Sister Usha/Shashti Devi/ Chhathi Maiya/Katyayani form of Durga/Devasena to thank them for bestowing the bounties of life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.
Special ghats are being prepared at various places in Delhi NCR. Chhath Puja is scheduled to be held on 2nd of November 2019 and 3rd November (evening of November 2 and early morning of November 3). At Sector 11, Dwarka, Chhath Puja is being organised by the Dwarka Religious Social and Cultural Association. The construction of the ghats are at the final stages
Chhath Puja celebration has become very popular because of the increasing number of devotees have increased the number of grants so the ghats are upgraded to 25 this year which was 21 last year.
The entire area is being well organised, so that the people can sit the way they do at the ghats in their villages. This year they have planned to make a traditional havan Bhavan perform including all the rituals. If any miss happening happens, for that proper first-aid and other medical facilities are also available at the ghats.
Various Sections in Dwarka are planning to save water and use every single drop of water and use it safely. Hence tankers have been arranged to send the water into the ghats and after puja, to water plants and trees in the area. This is such an effective way to spread the message to save water through the puja.
Various Popular places to Celebrate Chhath puja are Dada Dev Ground Chhath Ghat, Various Sector 8 DDA park Chhath Ghat, Sector 11 Chhath Ghat, Dwarka Dabri Chhath Ghat. These are some of the places to celebrate the festival in Dwarka and its surrounding areas to worship the sun.
Every year, as the number of people are increasing so the authorities are very much concerned about providing facilities for the festival that’s why there are many new ghats reconstructed increased in various parts of Dwarka. Chhath puja at Dwarka Sector 8 and Dada Dev Mela ground are one of the biggest chhath puja celebrations. It is most cleaned and maintained ghats including free raw cow milk, Gangajal, priests for the arghya for the evening and morning both.
