The businessman was on the run after murdering his wife. He was arrested from a guesthouse near Delhi Cantt.
Kishore Jain, a resident of Palam set his wife on fire after she confronted him about his habit of gambling. The incident took place in the third week of May and he had been absconding since then. He owned a wholesale business of supplying sugar and pulses.
The accused poured kerosene on his wife, Rachna, while she was cooking and set her on fire to make it look like an accident. Rachna succumbed to her injuries and could not survive. Their 17-year-old daughter was also injured whilst trying to save her mother.
As per information gathered through family members, Police said that Jain would often get into arguments with Rachna over his addiction to gambling. He was about to sell his house to fund his addiction. On the day of the incident, Rachna confronted Jain in the presence of their children, this angered him and he set his wife on fire.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Anto Alphonse said that “We registered a case of murder and formed a team led by ACP Rajinder Singh to arrest him”. After further investigation, Jain was caught from a guest house near Delhi Cantt.
