A 33-year-old man, resident of JJ Colony, was arrested for robbing pedestrians in Dwarka area.
Police have identified the accused as Vikas Singh, a former security guard and arrested him in possession of an illegal firearm. Singh was booked in a case of arms act for possessing an illegal firearm.
This is not the first time that the accused has been on the wrong side of the law. Police officials stated that Singh was previously arrested in 2017 in an assault case.
A senior police official said that – “Singh was fond of costly cigarettes, liquor and had started taking drugs after losing his job. To fulfil his addiction, he procured a country made pistol and planned to target pedestrians at secluded places of Dwarka so that he could rob them. He was searching for his new target when he was apprehended by the police”
A former security guard, the accused was sacked from his job after numerous fights with his colleagues.
